Atlarix in your editor
Use Atlarix inside your editor: an extension for VS Code and the editors built on it, and the Agent Client Protocol for Zed and JetBrains IDEs.
Which way in
- VS Code, Cursor, Kiro, Windsurf and other editors built on VS Code: install the Atlarix extension.
- Zed and JetBrains IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, GoLand and the rest): they speak the Agent Client Protocol (ACP) natively, so they run Atlarix's CLI as their agent — no plugin needed.
Either way it is the same Atlarix: your account, your models (Atlarix Auto, Core, or your own key), every mode, approvals before changes, your Chrome through the extension, and messages between your Atlarix sessions.
VS Code, Cursor, Kiro and Windsurf
Install Atlarix from the Visual Studio Marketplace (VS Code) or Open VSX (Cursor, Kiro, Windsurf, VSCodium): search for Atlarix in the Extensions view. The extension carries its own copy of the Atlarix CLI, so there is nothing else to install.
- Open the Atlarix view in the activity bar (the ant) or press ⌘⌥A (Ctrl+Alt+A), and sign in the first time.
- Pick the mode in the message box and the model just under it; Build asks before every edit and command.
- Edits open in the editor's own side-by-side diff before anything is written — Yes applies it, No leaves the file alone.
- Select code and press ⌘⌥L (Ctrl+Alt+L) to add it to the chat, or type @ for a file. The + button also attaches images.
- Plan mode writes a plan you can read in the panel; Build it carries it out.
- Past chats in this folder are under the clock icon; "Open in an editor tab" gives a chat a whole editor column.
- Coming back after a few minutes away shows a one-line recap; switch it off in the ⋯ menu.
Zed
Install the Atlarix CLI (npm i -g atlarix, Homebrew or winget), then add it to Zed's settings (~/.config/zed/settings.json):
"agent_servers": { "Atlarix": { "type": "custom", "command": "atlarix", "args": ["acp"] } }
Open the Agent Panel, start a new thread with Atlarix, and sign in when asked. Modes and models appear in Zed's own pickers.
JetBrains IDEs
Install the Atlarix CLI, then in AI Assistant's chat open More Agents → Add Custom Agent. That opens ~/.jetbrains/acp.json; add:
"agent_servers": { "Atlarix": { "command": "/path/to/atlarix", "args": ["acp"] } }
Use the full path to atlarix (which atlarix on macOS and Linux, where atlarix on Windows). No JetBrains AI subscription is needed to use an ACP agent.
Same sessions, same data
Chats from your editor show up in the Atlarix app and CLI, and the other way round. Another Atlarix session — the app, the terminal, Chrome or another editor — can send a message to the one in your editor; it arrives as a card and is answered there.
