Atlarix CLI

An AI coding agent in your terminal

The Atlarix CLI is the Atlarix agent for the terminal. Run atlarix in a project and ask it to build, fix or explain something. It edits files with a diff you approve, runs commands in a sandbox, and shares everything with the Atlarix desktop app: sessions, models, keys, MCP servers and automations.

    $curl -fsSL https://atlarix.dev/install | sh

Free · macOS, Windows, Linux · any model · updates itself

    Install the Atlarix CLI

    macOS and Linux

    $curl -fsSL https://atlarix.dev/install | sh

    Windows (PowerShell)

    $irm https://atlarix.dev/install.ps1 | iex

    Homebrew

    $brew install amariahak/atlarix/atlarix

    npm

    $npm install -g atlarix

    winget

    $winget install AmariahAK.AtlarixCLI

Every method installs the same self-contained program from the Atlarix releases on GitHub, checked against its published checksums. Then run atlarix; sign in from your browser, or with atlarix login --device on a server.

    What the Atlarix CLI does

The same agent as the app

Your sessions, models, API keys, MCP servers, skills and automations are shared with the Atlarix desktop app. Start a task in the terminal and pick it up in the app, or the other way round.

    Five work modes

Build edits and runs. Explore reads and explains. Plan writes a plan to approve first. Debug chases a failure. Review reviews changes. Shift+tab switches between them.

    Any model

Atlarix Auto picks a model for each step. Or choose an Atlarix Core model, your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, OpenRouter and more, or a local model with Ollama or LM Studio.

    Nothing changes without you

Every file edit shows a numbered diff to approve, and shell commands run in a per-OS sandbox. You can allow a command once, for the session, or not at all.

    Background work in plain sight

Hand independent tasks to sub-agents and keep long commands running in the background. A strip above the prompt shows what is running; ↓ opens any of it, live.

    Runs unattended too

atlarix run --prompt "…" does one task and exits, for CI and scripts. It is what the Atlarix cloud agent runs inside GitHub Actions.

Want it to work while you are away? The Atlarix cloud agent runs the CLI in your repository’s GitHub Actions and brings back a pull request. Prefer a window? Download the Atlarix desktop app.

    Questions about the Atlarix CLI

    What is the Atlarix CLI?

The Atlarix CLI is an AI coding agent for the terminal, made by NorahLabs. It is the same agent as the Atlarix desktop app: it reads your project, plans, edits files with a diff you approve, runs commands in a sandbox, and reviews and debugs code, sharing the app's sessions, models and keys.

How do I install the Atlarix CLI?

On macOS and Linux run curl -fsSL https://atlarix.dev/install | sh. On Windows run irm https://atlarix.dev/install.ps1 | iex in PowerShell. You can also use brew install amariahak/atlarix/atlarix, npm install -g atlarix, or winget install AmariahAK.AtlarixCLI. Then run atlarix in a project folder.

    Is the Atlarix CLI free?

Yes. The CLI and every feature are free. With your own API key or a local model you pay nothing to Atlarix. Atlarix Core models are paid with Pro at $19 a month, which includes Core usage, or with pay-as-you-go credit.

Which models can the Atlarix CLI use?

Atlarix Auto, the Atlarix Core models, your own API key for providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek and OpenRouter, or a local model through Ollama or LM Studio. /model switches between them; ctrl+a in it connects a new provider.

Do I need an Atlarix account?

Only for Atlarix Core models. With your own API key or a local model the CLI works without signing in. To sign in, run atlarix and approve in your browser, or run atlarix login --device on a machine without a browser.

How does the Atlarix CLI compare to the desktop app?

It is the same agent with the same data: sessions, settings, keys and automations are shared. The app adds a visual workspace, previews and the in-app terminal; the CLI fits a terminal workflow, SSH sessions and scripts.
