    Building for Africa's AI Ecosystem

    More than a coding tool

Atlarix is part of a larger mission to make African-built AI models first-class citizens in real developer workflows.

Across the continent, teams are building remarkable AI — multilingual language models, domain-specific models for African markets, and research that reflects African contexts and needs. These models deserve the same developer tooling as any model from a Western lab.

We are actively working to integrate African AI providers as native, featured providers in the model picker — no extra setup, no second-class treatment. A developer in Nairobi, Lagos, or Cape Town should be able to open Atlarix, select a locally-built model, and ship production software with it.

If you're building AI in Africa, we'd love to hear from you.

LinkedIn — Africa's AI Ecosystem Post

Our post on building AI tooling for Africa's developers — featuring African AI labs like Awarri (N-ATLAS, Nigeria), Lelapa AI (InkubaLM, East/West Africa), and LLM Labs Kenya — reached the African tech community on LinkedIn and sparked direct conversations with AI builders across the continent.

Two events. Two very different rooms. One direction.

Notes from the Lua AI (YC F25) × Antler "Building Agent-First Businesses" hackathon in Nairobi— in-person builders focused on autonomous systems for real African problems, not chat bolted on a product. In parallel, Atlarix won the Bonus Blog Post Prize at the Devpost × AWS Nova AI Hackathon: Nova showed that a model is only as strong as the capabilities, context, and agent architecture around it—the thesis behind Atlarix. The thread ties that to sovereignty for African labs ("Your Architecture. Your Model. Your Sovereignty") and a roadmap to support continent-built models in production workflows. More updates soon; founders, developers, and AI labs across Africa are invited to reach out.
